Why UI/UX design is critical for success of an interface?

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” –Steve Jobs

Any app development must therefore first focus on design and creating a user interface. UI represents all the visuals that the product has such as colors, fonts, buttons, etc. In this way, the user can achieve his end goals in as few steps as possible. The task of the UI is to visually guide the user through the user interface and during that process does not ask the user to think too much. It is the essence, the link between users and the user interface.

This is an example of a bad UI interface. The CTO button (call to action) is not highlighted enough and the user is confused.

UX represents the user experience during the use of the product from the first to the last step. It is user-oriented, investigates who the ideal user could be and how to use the product most easily, or to perform a certain task.

This sidewalk can be one example of UX/UI. The material that is used to make this sidewalk is UI and the people who use it or how they interact with it is UX. In this real-life example, we see bad UX design.

Here we can see that the user experience is quite different from what is designed.

Why is a user-friendly Interface important?

Users are the main character; we are supposed to design an interface that meets their expectations. The user interface is the communication channel between users and products, therefore it needs to be intuitive or user friendly. Users should be familiar with elements of the interface and they need to use them with minimal effort possible

Is user experience completely dependent on design?

User experience and design are co-dependent, one without another wouldn't work well. When designing a product, we must be careful not to tire the user with unnecessary things. The way the interface looks and moves plays a critical role in the way a user feels when interfacing with it. Users gain their experience by using our product, and we design our product based on their previous experience using similar applications. One depends on the other and vice versa.

Can Design be intuitive?

- A design is intuitive when current knowledge is equal to target knowledge. A design is unintuitive when there is a gap between

current & target knowledge. By simplifying the design, we can make this gap smaller.

What is User-Centered Design?

- User-Centered Design is a design philosophy that aims to create products that meet the specific needs of its end-users, achieving

the highest satisfaction and best possible user experience with the minimum effort on their part.

A good UI shouldn’t be complicated.

It’s meant to be used and should look good, be familiar, and intuitive. Failing to take these into account will result in a confusing interface where the user is forced to search around the screen for buttons that are relevant to them.

So, whether it is a website or a mobile application, the interface should have a user-centric design.
